about

Following the trend of many pop music artists (at a certain stage in their careers), I wondered whether I'd ever put together a 'hits' album. And decided I probably wouldn't - as I've never really had any hits. But I have had NUMBER ONES - every album I've made has a No. 1 on it - the FIRST track!

The more I pondered the idea of making an album of NUMBER ONES, the more I realised how cool of an idea it is. The first track on an album sets the tone for what is to come - it's supposed to draw the listener into a time, place and vibe. The number 1 track is supposed to make the listener not want to turn off the CD, tape or record. In most of my 'rap' albums, the intros are often an exciting montage of samples from dusty records, scratching, juggled beats and brimming with excitement. The instrumental album intro's tend to be one of the most ear catching of the collection. It's an interesting mix n match...

Along with Trillion releases, I have included intro's from other projects I have created from Dark Tower and Bazuki Joe. Lined up together, they also represent a timeline of time-capsules - an unplanned musical evolution of the least considered pieces of music from a musician's career. This is art… and this is about as opposite to a 'hits' album as i can make.

This collection of music are how the tracks sound directly from the albums - they haven't been remastered for this project, so occasionally the volumes and bass levels vary. Enjoy! There are some quite awesome moments to be heard. And this is great value - it's FREE!
